Healing Weekend Retreat
In St. Mary's County, MD
10/29 - 11/1/2026
What to Expect?
Confidential, Non-Judgmental & Free of Charge
Come away from the busyness of daily life to care for yourself and the wounds left by abortion. In a small group environment, navigate difficult emotions, unburden your heart, and move toward healing, restoration, hope and connection.

At a peaceful retreat home surrounded by nature on St. Jerome Creek a small group of women will have an immersive weekend experience designed to provide privacy, rest, reflection, and meaningful spiritual care. Each woman will have her own bedroom, and space is intentionally limited.
Through Transforming Your Story workbook, participants will explore stories of redemption and consider how God can meet us in the places of our deepest hurt. The retreat will incorporate prayer, guided reflection, and small-group conversation.
Read One Woman’s Story:
For 25 years, I thought my abortion was behind me. I had confessed it to God, yet anxiety, fear, and painful patterns rooted in deeper wounds continued to affect my life and relationships.
I told myself, “I’m fine. This is just the way I am.” But then I discovered that deeper healing was possible. As I began to heal, anxiety gave way to greater peace, fear loosened its hold, and I experienced a new sense of freedom.
That deeper healing and freedom may be possible for you, too.
Meet Your Facilitator:
Tamara Baczek leads pregnancy grief care at Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center. Having experienced abortion herself, Tamara understands the hidden guilt and shame that can linger beneath the surface. For years, these wounds affected and shaped the way she saw herself.
Along her own journey toward healing and restoration, Tamara encountered other women carrying painful stories of their own. Although their experiences were different, she recognized something familiar beneath the surface—a wounded heart longing for healing, hope, and freedom.
Today, Tamara gently guides women through Transforming Your Story by Wendy Giancola, drawing on her training and experience in one-on-one care, women mentorship, small-group facilitation, and biblical counseling. With compassion, empathy, and the understanding that comes from her own experience, Tamara creates a safe and supportive space where women can honestly explore their stories, tend to deeper wounds, and move toward greater healing and freedom.
