Transform Your Story
Private Weekend Retreat
10/29 - 11/1/2026
Healing is a journey. What would it look like in your life to heal from the after effects of undergoing an abortion.
Take a step in your journey today.
Learn What to Expect:
Transforming Your Story 4-Day Retreat is a safe environment you can share about your abortion. You have the opportunity to grieve, forgive, and reconcile with God and your lost baby or babies. We will take a path using spiritual tools like practical ways for coping with anger, depression and shame, prayer that opens the soul to God, redemptive Biblical stories, journal prompts to unburden the heart and stories of women who have found healing.
Step away from all the daily demands and distractions of work life with a small group of women to a beautiful private retreat house on the water and care for themselves and their wounds. It is a chance, after 72 hours, to release the heaviness and come away with restoration, healing, hope, and special bonds with other women who have undergone an abortion.
Read One Woman’s Story:
I had already confessed to God my abortion and was active at church but deeper wounds and habits continued impacting my life and relationships. My suffering took the form of anxiety, self-abandonment, and extreme fearful motherhood. I told myself “The abortion is in the past, I am fine.” and “This anxiety and fearfulness is just the way I am.” Healing was postponed because of thoughts like these. A deeper healing with freedom was available. I experienced it at a weekend retreat, similar to this one, for women who had an abortion. You can experience this freedom too. Instead of self-abandonment, I now know I am valuable. Instead of anxiety, I now have more awareness and peace. Instead of extreme fear, I am now empowered.
Meet Your Facilitator:
Tamara Baczek leads pregnancy grief care at Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center. After undergoing an abortion herself, she kept hidden wounds of guilt and shame that impacted the relationships in her life and view of herself. Part of her restoration to a new life included encounters with other women and their pain and shame. The shame may have ‘worn different clothes’ but underneath was another wounded woman. One special woman Tamara met through a God incident was Wendy Giancola, author of the book Transforming Your Story. Through the care, training and leadership of Wendy as past Director of pregnancy loss at Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center, Tamara now brings Transforming Your Story to women as a weekend retreat. Tamara will lead a small group through the steps within Transforming Your Story utilizing her gifts and skills in 1:1 care, small group facilitation, and her gentle, empathetic spirit to help women recover from emotional and spiritual trauma of abortion.
